Scale
- 1 baguette
- 2 Tbs olive oil
- 12-14 strawberries
- 4-5 oz spreadable vegan cheese (like this vegan goat cheese or vegan cream cheese), at room temperature
- 4-5 basil leaves, finely cut
- balsamic vinegar or glaze
Instructions
- Preheat: Oven to 350 degrees.
- Bread: Slice the baguette on the diagonal into ½" thick pieces. Brush the bread slices with olive oil and place on a baking sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for 7-8 minutes until they start to get toasted.
- Toppings: Wash and cut the strawberries into thin slices. Prepare the basil by rolling the leaves and slicing into thin ribbons.
- Assemble: When ready to assemble - spread each crostini with cheese, then top with several slices of strawberry. Sprinkle with basil and drizzle the top with balsamic. Serve at room temperature.
Notes
- This recipe works best when everything is at room temperature when assembling and serving.
- The bread can be toasted earlier in the day and assembled just prior to serving.
