    this Recipe

Roasting a whole head of garlic in the oven is one of those things that once you know how to do it, you'll find so many uses for it.

Just some of the ways we like to use it include - spreading it on toasted bread, adding to mashed potatoes, making garlic mayo or garlic butter, or adding to hummus.

    Time needed: 35 minutes.

Be forewarned - this will make your home smell amazing!

    1. Preheat

Preheat your oven to 400 degrees.

    2. Remove the skin

Remove as much of the papery skin from the garlic bulb as you can while keeping the bulb intact.

    3. Cut the garlic

Use a knife to cut about ¼" - ½" off the top of the garlic bulb and expose all the cloves.Garlic bulb ready for roasting

    4. Coat with oil

Drizzle olive oil to cover the exposed garlic cloves.Garlic bulb with olive oil

    5. Wrap it up

Wrap the garlic bulb in aluminum foil keeping it upright. If you prefer, wrap first in parchment paper and then in foil.Garlic bulb wrapped in foil on a baking pan

    6. Bake

Place on a pan and bake for 30-40 minutes. The timing will depend on the size of the garlic bulb. You should check on it after 30 minutes.

    7. Cool down

Remove from oven and let cool for a few minutes. At this point you can squeeze each clove and it should easily pop out and is ready to use.Roasted Garlic
