Visiting the Oregon Garden in Silverton, Oregon was another item we had on our summer list and lucky for us it’s one of the cultural passes offered by the Washington County Library system.

By the way, if you live in the area you should really check those passes out.  We’re working our way through using all of them this summer and have saved quite of bit of money so far.

The gardens are, of course, beautiful.  We decided to wander around instead of catching the tram tour.  I think that perhaps the ideal time to visit may be earlier in the summer as many of the flowers had already bloomed or were past their peak.  Of course, there were still plenty of plants in bloom, but I’d be interested in visiting again at a different time of year.

The Frank Lloyd Wright designed Gordon House also shares the property and we skulked around the house admiring it’s beauty from the outside because the long tour was already in progress,  perhaps another time.
